LAN TOPOLOGIES

Bus Topology
Networks employing a bus topology use a common physical connection for communication. That means the physical media is shared between stations. When one station transmits on the bus, all devices hear the transmission.

Ring Topology

Ring topologies are similar to bus topologies, except they transmit in one direction only from station to station. Typically, a ring architecture will use separate physical ports and wires for transmit and receive.

Extended Star Topology
Extended-star topology is that if the central node point fails, large portions of the network can become isolated.

Mesh Topology
Mesh topology or a mesh network, mesh is a network topology in which devices are connected with many redundant interconnections between network nodes. In a true mesh topology every node has a connection to every other node in the network.
